Motorola today announced the global release of the Motorola ColorNotes Solution which transforms traditional messaging by allowing mobile subscribers to express their emotions. The innovative messaging service developed for CDMA and GSM networks converts traditional voice or short messages (SMS) to multimedia messages (MMS) that incorporate animated graphics and audio. Motorola ColorNotes also enables users to receive broadcast messages, such as news clips, stock quotes, horoscopes, jokes and more delivered by their favorite animated character. With Motorola ColorNotes, animated characters take the words right out of consumers' mouths. Subscribers are able to choose from a library of characters, including celebrities, cartoon characters and animated objects offered by the operator to deliver their messages. Motorola ColorNotes subscribers also have the ability to select from nine different emotions that the character will portray when delivering the message. When the recipient retrieves the MMS, they view the animated character and hear the sender's message. Marketing the service under the name "Voice MMS," ZMCC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile, is the first operator to launch Motorola ColorNotes Service. "Users are looking for new ways to personalize their mobile devices and customize how they communicate with others. Motorola ColorNotes does that by enabling subscribers to create and deliver a colorful, fun and completely unique message," said Sri Kannankote, Motorola's corporate vice president, Network Services and Applications Management. "Similar to applying personalization to ringtones, Motorola ColorNotes takes that idea to another level with messaging. Motorola ColorNotes helps operators stimulate growth in messaging services by leveraging traditional voice and SMS." |
