A Philippine Catholic Church has allowed Filipinos to send their petitions via text messages from their cellular phones. The petitions sent to the "Text Mary" project are forwarded for inclusion in the intentions of daily Masses held in churches in Manila and in the prayers of Carmelite nuns. Each text costs 2.50 pesos (US$0.05). Consider there is 60 million Catholic people in Philippines, the sms infrastructure provider is going to earn big time. http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/world/archives/2005/08/31/2003269834 |
