In keeping with its tradition as an industry leader, AirAsia the leading low fare no frills airline in Asia, has today taken its highly successful online booking service one step further by being the first airline in the world to offer a total, comprehensive booking system targeting mobile phones & wireless devices.

This would allow mobile phone and PDAs users with any GPRS, 3G, EDGE or wireless facilities, to view the web pages directly.

This service provides AirAsia customers' unsurpassed convenience as with just a mobile phone, AirAsia customers can search for flights, book, use a credit card to pay, and receive flight confirmation and itinerary details, from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.

"Mobile phone users have more than quadrupled in the past few years, even surpassing the growth rate of computer / internet users. Nowadays, having a mobile phone and wireless gadgets is not only a necessity but it is a lifestyle. In keeping with today’s needs & trend, AirAsia is proud to deliver yet another fuss free booking service aimed for the convenience of our consumers. Essentially, mobile.airasia.com would enable AirAsia to reach out to even more consumers, cut down operating costs and expand our services to markets with low computer / internet penetration. This will effectively grow our consumer base in countries like China, Philippines & Indonesia. Reduced operating costs would also mean we would be able to offer even lower fares to our consumer." - Tony Fernandes, Group CEO, AirAsia Berhad

To access this service, simply open the web browser on your mobile phone and go to: http://mobile.airasia.com. From the home page, one may browse through the various menu options in order to book a flight.
