Hop-on announced that it plans to launch its new 1885 MP3 phone at CES 2006. This latest offering is a low-cost handset that targets the mid-tier phone market in the US.

Dan Gannon, Chief Executive Officer of Hop-on, commented, "We are excited to unveil our latest offering at CES. Our 1885 phone has all the features contained in top of the line candy bar style phones but at a reasonable price. The domestic US market expects to pay a considerable amount of money for a full-feature MP3 phone but we are trying to change that view. Our low overhead costs allow us to offer high-quality, high-functionality handsets at lower prices than the major players in our market. As a result of our size and supply chain flexibility our technology cycle is considerably faster than the incumbents. We are pleased to be a domestic company that has the ability to compete with the international arena on both price and quality."

Hop-on's new MP3 phone, model 1885, is 95x43x18.5 mm. It is a tri-band handset (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), with a vibrant color screen. It is a GPRS class 10 phone, with SMS and MMS messaging capability. The phone comes standard with a VGA pixel CMOS digital camera. An FM radio and JAVA games are also standard features.
