Hello Messenger is a new messaging service provided by KDDI in Japan. The messenger allow up to maximum 5 people chat at the same time. While text messaging is supported by default, the java application Hello Messenger allow you to send speech and picture in real time to all the chatter.

The Hello Messenger is just like a MSN messenger, it has contact list, can invite people to join in the chat session. Each chatter is represent by a cartoon character. A total of 12 character you can choose from the application.

Sending speech is pretty much like Pust to Talk. By pressing a button, you can speak to the phone and the speech will be sent directly to all the chatter in real time. Picture or photo can be sent by selecting the file. Pictures received will be recorded in the log file so that you can retrieve it later.

To use this new service, you have to purchase one of the 3 new phones announced by KDDI today. (See next page)
