Chinese Ministry of Information Industry Standardization of Mobile Phone Chargers Coming Soon...

Conformity shouldn't come as a surprise when it comes to the Chinese Government. The Chinese Ministry of Information Industry announced it will set a standard when it comes to mobile phone charger connectors. The efforts will decrease sales of accessories and the Chinese Government says it will cut electronic waste from 450 million subscribers and save 2.4 billion Yuan (approx. $300 USD).

According to the Chinese, these efforts will cut electronic waste generated by 100+ million phones. One question is whether the standardization will increase or hurt mobile phone sales. Only time will tell.
