Surerange Analysis has launched a new Web service, which allows mobile users to view personalized Web content on their handhelds and mobile phones.
MobileClipper creates specially formatted clips of web sites you want to view on the move. It might be news, weather, flight arrivals, live train departure times, TV listings, etc. The service reformats the content so as to make it accessible regardless how small the screen of your handset is. Each clip is given a unique web address, which can be saved as a bookmark. Whenever you access the clip, it goes to the mobile clipper server, which fetches the web page you want clipped, extracts the data and formats it to fit on your type of phone.
Clips are created online using the your PC web browser. You specify what is to be clipped using a series of commands. Clips can also be password protected so only you can access them.
MobileClipper isn't just for personal use. Companies can clip address books, jobs, deliveries, information, advice or any instant and timely information that makes employees more productive on the move. It's also possible to use MobileClipper to create mobile versions of your web pages for your suppliers and customers.
MobileClipper will work on Pocket PC, Microsoft Smartphone, Palm OS, Sony Ericsson P800/P900 devices, and most Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, Panasonic, and Sanyo phones. The service is available on a personal subscription at $19.99 per year.
