Plantronics has just announced that they have just developed the first Blu-tooth headset that connects to your PC or Lap-top to bring wireless connectivity, through one of their VoIP softphones.

The new Voyager 510-USB which as its name suggests plugs right into your computer’s USB port instantly bringing the conversation once only heard through bulky headphones are now meters away from your computer. The Voyager works great by emulating the experience received by that of a cell phone, working universally if users holding a lap-top just so happen to stumble upon a Wi-Fi connection.

The Voyager’s PerSonoCall software allows it to integrate with various VoIP programs such as Avaya, Cisco, Nortel, and Skype.  The Voyager is also supportive of other internet phone services such as AOL, MSN, and Yahoo.  The Personocall software also provides the same features available on the softphones themselves onto the headset such as call notification, and remote answering or ending.  The Voyager comes packaged with a number of accessories such as desktop charging stand, USB charging cable, USB extension cable, and AC charger.

The Voyager comes standard with a Noise-canceling microphone and wind-reduction technology which provide optimal sound for both in-door and out-door environments.  The Voyager can be maneuvered to accommodate any ear, with six hours of talk time and a 100 hours in stand-by. The 510 can work 33 feet from any Blu-tooth voice enabled device including that of both VoIP softphones and regular mobile hand-sets.  The Voyager 510-USB will be available this June selling for a $199 at any Planatronic authorized dealership.
