A wireless headset is a necessary evil. Have you ever tried using a wireless headset? I'm positive that you are looking for the same features as I am namely quality, comfort and design. I find that many wireless headsets on the market today focus on design and style, yet completely miss the boat on quality (i.e. Nextlink AX).
I have found a couple of headsets whose quality is awesome, but the headset is too heavy or painful to wear; not to mention the price is in the $139-$300+ range (i.e. Jabra BT800 and Nextlink Bluespoon Digital). Style and design are a huge factor when it comes to buying a wireless headset. As I'm going to be wearing it on my face, why not treat the device as if it were a piece of clothing, glasses or ear ring? I'd have to say that many wireless headset manufacturers just can't get it through their heads that consumers don't want to wear a big ugly looking antenna! The new Flamingo Headset made by Cellpoint (Scandinavia) addresses all three issues. Its quality, design and comfort set it apart from the rest of the pack.
I want to thank Cellpoint for shipping me the Flamingo to review. I'm very appreciative of their efforts for the rapid delivery (next day service via WorldCourier.com!). I was out of town on a trip when I found out that the package was schedule for Saturday morning delivery. I got a message on Friday morning that the package is now scheduled for an early delivery Friday afternoon. Wow! After four long months of waiting, the Flamingo is finally here. I immediately changed my travel plans to make it home in time to intercept the delivery. Importunely, my flight didn't get in from Las Vegas until 2:00am. Thank goodness someone was around to accept the package. I got home and there it was the package from Cellpoint. The package included t4/21/2005he Flamingo headset, desk charger, power adapter, and six pieces of EarClick. Since this unit is a near production prototype, the neck strap, user manual and warranty card were not included.
The production package should include the following:
The Flamingo was placed into the charger for its initial charge. Then I sat there gazing at the unity between the headset and the desk charger. Then it finally hit me that it's really here. The Flamingo is available and cost $129. SmartFone is offering $10-off on purchase of the Flamingo! Coupon code : BV9QW3GBZBNGSF Click here to order the Flamingo Headset Pages (4): [1] 2 3 4 » ... It was love at first sight when I saw the Flamingo in the Innovation Plus showrooms at CES 2005. The small-form-factor and elegant design of this Bluetooth headset immediately caught my eyes. I was also equally impressed with how comfortable the Flamingo fits inside my ear. My fingers were at ease with the intuitive controls. Ok so it looks great and feels great. The only unanswered question was, is it a quality Bluetooth headset? The short answer is, yes.
