The long awaited Bluespoon AX Bluetooth headset finally hits state side. The Bluespoon AX isn’t a new toy to me since I’ve been testing the pre-production (clear casing) over the past month. This article serves only as my first impression and not a thorough review. The AX will go through a lot of testing over the next couple of weeks to make sure that it’s not just a pretty face, with a very small form factor. Features
Sound Quality The sound quality of the AX isn't the best and it's definitely not the worse in comparison to other Bluetooth headsets on the market. The sound quality between the production and beta unit is identical minus the echo on the receiving end. Folks that I spoke to reported that once in a while, my voice got muffled and hard to hear. Slightly adjusting the headset fixed the problem. I would consider the AX an ultimate Bluetooth headset had Nextlink designed it to be wind resistance. I detected a slight difference in sound quality between the AX and the Scala-500. The Scala-500's quality is slight better thanks to a proprietary wind blocking technology developed by Cardo. The difference isn't enough for me to sacrifice the comfort of the AX for the Scala-500's WindGuard technology. Plus, the two most common places that I use my phone is in door or while driving. So the wind factor isn't really a factor at all. In a nutshell Size, quality and comfort makes the Bluespoon AX one of the best "bang for the buck" Bluetooth wireless headsets on the market.

There are three user-interface buttons. The large TALK button is placed on front for easy usage while the other two are on the side of headset. The battery on the AX is rechargeable and replaceable. There's a small drawer that easily pulls, out in case you need to replace the battery. There's a built in mini USB port for charging via the desktop or laptop. Nextlink did not include an AC adapter. I was informed that the AC wall adapter will be released at a later date.
