If you want mobile broadband then you want HSDPA - connections of up to 1.8 megabits per second - and if you want a sexy clamshell then you need the Samsung Z560. And the great news is, if you're in the UK, that T-Mobile are exclusively releasing the Z560 complete with some low-cost "all you can eat" data plans. Rocking in at 98g, the Samsung Z560 manages to pack an mp3 player, 2 megapixel autofocus camera and video recorder into its 51 x 97 x 16mm frame. The 17mb of on-board memory can be augmented via microSD, and pictures and video show up beautifully on the QVGA screen. Samsung are promising almost four hours of talk-time and 320 hours of standby from a full charge.
T-Mobile are pushing their Web'n'Walk tariffs with the Z560, and considering the potential chunky downloading that can be done with the HSDPA connection it's probably a good idea to get one of their unlimited data packages. Starting with Web'n'Walk basic at £7.50 ($14.36) plus a standard contract, which gets you free phone-only data, there's also Web'n'Walk Plus which for £29 ($55.53) a month lets you hook it up to your laptop, and Web'n'Walk Max that lets you use VOIP with it. The Max package costs £44 ($84.25) a month. The Samsung Z560 is priced from free to £139.99 depending on contract, and is available now. Product Page [via Onecompare] |
