Samsung Electronics provided T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) phones to Debitel for the launch of Europe's first commercial DMB based Mobile TV service in Germany.
With Samsung's famous and unique landscape view design, the SGH-P900 gives consumers a more ergonomic Mobile TV experience. In addition to crisp and vivid TV viewing, the SGH-P900 fully supports additional multimedia features including a 2 megapixel camera, music players, and Bluetooth technology. Its enhanced audio quality powered by dual speakers, digital power amplifier, and an external music key helps maximize the live broadcasting TV viewing experience. Mobile TV service will be available in five major cities of Germany. The service will start in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt and then will spread to more major German cities during the next month. Paul A. Stodden, CEO of Debitel said, "German is an ideal market to be the first in Europe to launch the DMB mobile TV service. '2006 FIFA World Cup' is taking place and people will enjoy watching live soccer broadcasts. With the help of our DMB service, our customers will not miss any of the action and excitement of the World Cup soccer matches. We are also delighted to work with Samsung and through this cooperation, becoming Europe’s first to commercially launch mobile DMB TV service".
